Network congestion and latency on Jolnir

    Looks like our mempool / network congestion is healthy again! Woohoo!

    What fixed it? Well we had a bug in our baseFee formula so this is throttling the network congestion correctly now, and also we modified the campaign to be a bit easier on the network.

    "But wait, it still says there are sooooo many transactions in the mempool on https://explorer.jolnir.taiko.xyz/stats". Good question, there's actually quite a lot of pending transactions that will be eventually dropped, these are when the baseFee was way lower and not working properly. But you should notice the network is working just fine now even though this stat is showing (it will continue to slowly shrink down).

    Currently there is a large congestion of transactions in the mempool on Jolnir, you can see the stats of the mempool here: https://explorer.jolnir.taiko.xyz/stats.

    This is because in our Galaxe campaign there is a Mint task, and each Mint operation actually consumes a lot more gas than we expected (~5.5 million gas per contract creation for the NFT collection).

    So you will notice that your transactions are taking much longer to get included in a block, unless you increase the gas price for your transaction.

    We are looking into the issue now and will update the status here and on Discord once resolved. Thank you!
